01/14 Afternoon Minute: What Can Brown Do For You?

leave a comment »

It looks like we’ll have some time to find the answer.

Amidst rumors of Mike Brown being on the “hot seat” in terms of NBA coaches, owner Dan Gilbert quenched all rumors today as the Plain Dealer is reporting that he has extended the contract of his head coach – with terms not available as of this post.

Yes, he is the winningest coach (in terms of percentage) in team history, but even Brown has to be surprised by this news.

General Manager Danny Ferry had some kind words to say about Brown.

“Mike Brown brings his high character, work ethic and talent as a coach with him to work every single day.  He has been, and will continue to be, important to our continued growth as a basketball team as we work towards a championship.”

Now all we need in Cleveland is Ferry to hold up his end of the bargain and bring in some help for this Cavalier team.  Its obvious that his drafting ability will not get the job done, so with the trade deadline rapidly approaching, it could be make or break time for the former Blue Devil.
